Lets see, so what's been happening since July?
Well I got laid off from CORI on July 7th - 1 day before Rosmina's birthday which was real bad timing and it also destroyed all plans to go to Sat's wedding (uh, and eat fish & chips LOL!) .
It was on to job hunting after that and finally landed one with Foremost Industries in the middle of September. With the new job meant that I needed my own car so I grabbed a 2000 Neon (Red of course LOL) that I found on Kijiji for $1300 with an additional $500 for clean up and brakes. Not to forget the $700 in mechanical work (the clutch a couple of weeks ago ).
calgary.kijiji.ca is a great place to go for things! I have turned into a kijiji-holic, if I want something, thats the first place I go, got a LOT of things at some kick ass prices! One of them being a brand new Samsung Blu-Ray - in unopened box - for $150! As I type, I'm on it right now looking for a bigger fixed projection screen - 92" isn't big enough, want 120" (Grandview if anyone has it) hahahahahahahahha!
What's next? Hmmm...speaking of kijiji and the screen, I broke the RCA rear projection tv I got from Ken (well not quite broke, it still works but the front plastic got a bit cracked from the flying can of OFF - don't ask ) So I figured I'll grab another from kijiji and started looking. After looking for a while, I started to think that I could take the 62" from the theatre room and bring it up for Nazima and setup a projection screen downstairs . I got the 92" Grandview screen (brand new) for a great price and grabbed a projector off of kijiji. The first projector I bought was a dud and ended up wasting $250 on it but that was my fault. After that, I went and picked up a Sony HD (1080i) one which is great! When I have enough money, I'll grab a Full HD1080p projector but for now it's good enough and I've been going through my movie collection and watching them on the big screen .
On November 21st, Nazima and I had our 8th wedding anniversary - sheesh, I didn't even blog it - I am one lazy bugger.
On December 5th I had my 40th birthday and Nazima took me to the Vertigo Theatre to see Murder on the Nile which was great!
Then the next day, my work had the children's christmas party and Rosmina and Aneesh got presents from Santa Claus and jumped in the big bouncy thing blown up with air . There was KFC (with tons of gravey) and pizza - you can guess which I had! LOL I wish I could have taken some home with me - there were so much left over...
I think that brings everything up to date, I shall endeavour to do this regularly instead of waiting so long... |

Well, the Configuration project at work is complete...opps, sorry Kelly..."is currently receiving final feedback from beta testing and ready for review and sign off by Stakeholder" - Never say "complete" or "done" when it comes to programming, it can come back in your face and haunt you for a long time LOL
Anyways, now I can finally relax and have some real time for my own things and be with Rosmina (yes, and Nazima as well...maybe )
It'll be raining the whole weekend and looks like it'll be the same on Monday and some on Tuesday. Right now the temp is +3c with rain. It's not so bad, the farmers need the moisture and so does the lawn - it'll save me using our water LOL.
Speaking of the lawn, our's is dying, drying and being just ugly brown. Gotta get Green Drop to come and see what they can do. I tried to spray the fertilizer and weed killer yesterday but it never works with me. I never know how much to spray in one spot. Our lawn is so dry, I feel like I have to make sure the lawn gets wet before moving on.
Yesterday I could only cut half of the back lawn because the lawn mower was starting to smell so I had a look at the oil level and it was NILL, way below nill in fact LOL. It gave me an excuse to stop mowing - I was too lazy to go to the gas station.
Nazima is bugging me to leave. We're at Mom's place. Better run before she decides to cash in on the life insurance... |

See this picture? It's me, Vicky and Satish at Glassy Junction in India. Well...

I had the image file on my desktop and the icon shows as a very very small thumbnail around this size:

Rosmina was just standing beside me and saw the image and she yells "SATISH CHACHU!" and I was thinking HUH? WHAT? WHERE? and she continues "there, there, show me, show me Daddy".
So I open up the picture full size and she continues further to say "that's you Daddy, that's....uh..that's Vicky and Satish Chachu..." I was completely shocked to say the least! Not only because she recognized Satish in such a small thumbnail on a desktop with tons of other icons but because she remembered Vicky as well.
It's been said before and will continue to be said again - Kids are very smart and learn very quickly, never under estimate them.
I can't wait to see what she does next! |

The other day, Nazima was tired after not getting enough sleep over the previous few days with Rosmina being sick. Rosmina was getting a little better so I told Nazima to go sleep and I would have Rosmina sleep with me when we went to bed later.
Well, Rosmina and I went to bed where she wanted the headphones for the iPhone so she could play the games without making noise..."HUH? HOW? WHAT? Where did you learn that from??" I asked. A little later I looked at something in the settings and realized I needed to sync the phone and told Rosmina to come down with me for a couple of minutes. She didn't want to and that was the end of that...Or so I thought...
A couple of minutes later Rosmina says "Daddy put the iPhone down..." and I thought she meant to put the iPhone on the floor like Nazima does so I do the same. Then she say "No Daddy, take it down..." and I realized she was talking about going downstairs. I said "Ok Honey Bunny lets go..." and she replied "It's OK Daddy, I'm tired, I want to stay."
"HUH? WHAT? UH...Are you sure?" I asked as she replied the same. I thought to myself "this is too weird, she doesn't even like sleeping by herself in her own bedroom for too long so why is it ok now?" And I started realizing that she indeed has learned how to (I don't know how but...) and was playing her Daddy. She's probably going to head into the spare bedroom where Nazima was sleeping after I left.
So I say "OK Honey Bunny, I'll be right back. You stay right here." and she says "OK Daddy, I'm tired.". I walk halfway down the stairs and stop waiting to see what happens. Not even a 45 seconds later I hear "Daddy? Daddy?" and I don't answer to see what happens...Then I hear these little feet pitter patter and see her secretively going over to the spare bedroom door and I yell out "Gotcha!". She starts laughing and saying she "just wanted to sleep with Mommy quietly..."
LOL she is one smart cookie! |
